As UNESCO is today organizing a panel debate on The Slave Route: Slavery and Racism at the World Conference against Racism and Xenophobia in Durban (South Africa), its Slave Trade Archives Project, which was established within the framework of the «Memory of the World» Programme, continuos. Funded by the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD), the project is concerned with the access to and preservation of original archive materials relating to the transatlantic slave trade.
